Just an Update

Apologies for the fact that new sermons are not appearing here any more. We recently did a study on the format of church meetings, and our conclusion was that having a single “sermon” was not the normal format that was used by the early Christians, but rather a number of different people contributed different thoughts, etc. For this reason, we have moved towards that format, with normally 3 or 4 men contributing a shorter message.

The down side of this, from the perspective of our website, is that it is not quite so conducive to recording and uploading. It’s possible that we may get back to uploading some or all of the contributions at some point in the future, but, for the moment, these will not be appearing – sorry about that!

What About Works

What About Works – Following on from last weeks talk about grace, this week Mark looks at what the relevance of works is if salvation is a gift and not based on works.

[Part 1]
[Part 2]

Saved by Grace

The BAD NEWS – we are miserable, sinful failures who spend a huge amount of our time doing things that offend God with occasional imperfect attempts to do things that please Him.

The GOOD NEWS – God loves us so much that He gives us salvation anyway.

Love One Another

Dave talks about the fact that we need to love each other as we love ourselves.

Choose who you will serve

Mike talks about the fact that we need to decide who we are going to serve because you cannot serve two masters.

How Do You Show Your Love?

Alec talks about love and the fact that if we say we love each other and God, then this love should be shown in what we do.

Bible Study

Alec talks about the importance of spending time reading and studying the Bible

Faith

Mark talks about what faith is and what it’s all about.

Why? Because He Loves You.

Mark talks about the fact that many times God does things that we don’t understand or that make us think that He doesn’t care when the truth is that He does many of these things specifically because He DOES love us.

The Church’s Got Talent

Alec talks about the fact that the members of the church have been given talents, and, just like people on the TV, we should use that talent. Is your congregation handicapped because ‘the foot’ or ‘the hand’ (in other words, you) is not doing its part?
